I have had my slicer for a couple of weekd. I use it almost daily. For a plastic contraption with no moving parts, I was skeptical that it would work, but it does! The knife end slices an avocado in half perfectly (start slicing at the stem). The opposite end scoops out the meat already sliced, though sometimes you need to push the meat through at the end of the scoop when the meat is very ripe. There are 3 blades in the middle which grab the nut so it can be easily twisted free and usually falls into the trash with a gentle tap.

The tool works equally well in either hand - just flip it over :-). Only the nut remover requires use of one side. After use, I give it a quick rinse in the sink and pop it back in the drawer. No need for dishwasher use unless you forget and the meat dries on -- I recevied this product discounted in exchsnge for my honest review
